We cherish those days we spent at school. Part of it is relates to what our school teachers have taught us. One thing we can never forget - Health Matters! The Fisherman Lounge strives to provide this to all our kids and grown ups, by providing a selection of seafood which is good for us.

3 reasons why Fish is Good for You.

The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating fish at least 2 times a week, particularly fatty fish like salmon and tuna.

Fish is a low-fat high quality protein with also has vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin). Fish is rich in calcium and phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, and potassium.

More importantly, fish is a healthy, high-protein food, particularly important for its omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential fats that our bodies don’t produce on their own.

Here are 3 reasons why fish is good for you:

- Omega-3s have been shown to decrease inflammation and reduce the risk of heart disease. Did you know that the 1st cause of death in Mauritius is Ischemic heart disease? (Healthdata)

- They are also vital for prenatal development in babies. In fact, these acids helps in the healthy brain function and infant development of vision and nerves during pregnancy.

- Eating fish helps decrease the risk of depression, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and diabetes. Diabetes is the 2nd cause of most deaths in Mauritius. (Healthdata)
